Oh yes, the weather is turning pretty cold. When it gets cold, I get more energetic. So I am full of energy and in very high spirits.
I just bought a FILCO Majestouch Minila Air with Cherry Brown switches for JPY 4,000. Sold Archiss RETRO Tiny (also with Cherry Brown switches) away. I am not sure why I bought this keyboard, I guess it was because it was cheap and has Bluetooth. I wanted a Bluetooth keyboard to pair it with my office Mac..but it was unable to pair. So I am using it now with my Windows PC. Windows is just so much more accessory compatible than MacOS.
So far it feels quite nice to type with, actually not much of a difference as it was the same switch as my previous board. However, I do hear some rattling of the springs inside the board when I type. I wonder if it is because it has slightly older switches? Or it was because these switches has been used more? I don't know and I don't even know if Cherry switches will even "age" well.
Ok, enough about keyboards. Let us talk about life. Recently, I have been having the urge to explore and meet with friends and chat. I guess it is partly due to me being highly energetic and full of energy now. Work has been the same. There was some excitement recently but it faded so I am back to being bored again. I hope I can get some interesting task to do.
Oh yes, I have forgotten to blog about my eventful birthday week. Let me do it now. I took the whole week of during my birthday week to relax and have fun. I was initially deciding to visit the museums with the museum pass but I got too tired planning it (there were so many museums and so many things to take note of!). So I went back to basics and asked myself what do I like. And I like to look at animals so I have decided to visit one aquarium per day.
I went to these aquariums during that week:
1) Sunshine Aquarium - Not recommended. The place feels like a teenager trying too hard to impress.
2) Sumida Aquarium - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I have never seen such a beautifully designed aquarium. There were not many species inside but the atmosphere just felt really good. It is the Starbucks of the aquariums.
3) Enoshima Aquarium - Go only when you are bored at Enoshima. Actually, I went and visited the whole of Enoshima that day. It was a solo trip and it was a time well spent. I went that on my actual birthday itself and I got the Enoshima one day pass from Shinjuku. So I basically did all the activities that I could on that island, plus the Aquarium and the day ended with Onsen at the SPA.
4) Shinagawa Aquarium - Ok I initially planned this on that break week but I got tired after going to Enoshima so I decided to rest at home. I only managed to go to this place last Saturday. It was an ok place, if you are bored you can visit this place. It is reasonably priced and the 2 sharks was the most fat and gorgeous I have ever seen so far. Baby shark do do do~
I will probably get the Sumida Aquarium annual pass. It is a really nice place to just hang around chill.
